What is your name and in which hookah lounge you work and for how long time?

My name is Enrico, but my friends call me Eno. I worked in the Mauritius(Marzahn) for 2 years, then Barlou Bar (Friedrichshain) for 6 Month and since 2 ½ years in the Adrijan Café.

Do your hookah lounge work now? If not, when it stopped?

We are open since the 2^nd of June, we had to close at the 14^th of March.

How much hookahs usually you prepared per day for customers? What is your average salary per day?

Normaly we prepare about 50 Hookahs per day.

If your lounge closed do you have any salary or support from your lounge employer?

During the quarantine all employees were quit. Means no salary or grants.

What are you do now in quarantine? How your life changes? Do you have any other work?

During the time I was looking for a temporary job at Rewe as an unpacker, where I`m still working.

I`m not disinterested but at the moment i`m satisfied with my Job at Rewe 3 times a week and the weekend at Adrijan Café.

My name is Chris Ignatius and i`m preparing hookahs since 4 years in the Skyy Lounge Kaiserslautern

Do your hookah lounge work now? If not, when it stopped?

We are open at the moment, but we are just allowed to serve drinks. So the guest traffic went down extreamly

How much hookahs usually you prepared per day for customers? What is your average salary per day?

For normal we prepare about 50 to 70 Hookahs per day. At the moment 0!

If your lounge closed do you have any salary or support from your lounge employer?

While the lounge was closed, we get short-time compensation, which is very low. As employee in gastronomic you rely on tips.

What are you do now in quarantine? How your life changes? Do you have any other work?

Everything had changed during the quarantine e.g. meeting friends was an No-Go. You only sat at home.

My name is Patrick Nuske, I have been working in the Aladin Hookah Lounge in Aalen since 3 years.

Do your hookah lounge work now? If not, when it stopped?

The bar is unfortunately closed since 16.03.2020.

How much hookahs usually you prepared per day for customers? What is your average salary per day?

We rather have a smaller selection of tobacco and each prepare 10-20 heads. Less during the week and more at the weekend. My average salary per day is around 80-100 euros.

I get a little bit of support but unfortunately not very much.

What are you do now in quarantine? How your life changes? Do you have any other work?

I do a lot of sport and use the free time to continue my education in this area. And of course I smoke shisha every day.

I would definitely find that very interesting. I always like to learn new things and to continue my education regardless of the area.

My name is Eduard Gelwich I`m working in the Mood (Bad Marienberg) as part-time since 3 years.

At the moment we are waiting because the local government didn’t give the informations for a reopening. We are closed since the 14^th of March.

How much hookahs usually you prepared per day for customers? What is your average salary per day?

Normaly I prepare about 18-40 Hookahs per day. It`s really hard to assess.

While the Lounge was closed, I said to my Boss I don’t need the money because he had to pay the rental. I fully understand this. It`s a very hard time for Lounge-owners

What are you do now in quarantine? How your life changes? Do you have any other work?

During the quarantine I worked in my normal job as “Metal-former” so I used the time to evolve myself. Before Corona I worked part-time, so I had enough money aside. But I want to establish my own company . I have some project and prototypes and hope everything went positive.

At the moment we are closed because Rheinland-Pfalz doesn’t give any informations for opening. Our closing was at the 14^th of March.

I had more time for my studies and self-employment. But financial it was an disaster. I didn’t found something else. We didn’t get any good informations for a reopening.
