In the summer of 1971, Whatever opened its doors as one of Memphis’ first alternative smoke shops. Since that time, we have been dedicated to providing our customers, both old and new, with the very best quality hand pipes, water pipes, bubblers, rigs, dugouts, hand-blown glass, cigars, cigarillos, rolling papers and wraps, bags, hookahs, shisha, hats, posters, tshirts, jewelry, incense and so much more!
After over 40 years at the same Highland location, in 2014 Whatever moved across the railroad tracks to the Highland Strip. That same year, after numerous customer requests that we expand to Midtown, Whatever opened its second store on Madison Avenue, right outside of iconic Overton Square. To better accommodate our East Memphis customers, two years later in 2016 Whatever opened its third and newest store on N Germantown Pkwy in Cordova.

Proud to be in business for nearly 50 years, Whatever has been run by the same owner since its opening in '71.
